G´day:

I would like for someone to advise me of the battery polarity of the 1981 Honda xl500s please.

would the bike be wired up for positive earth or negative earth.

I have an old manual, but this doesn´t seem to show what the polarity is, I have purchased a new battery and this reads positive as negative and negative as positive, confused !!!!, I have never come across a battery being charged in this way to read back to front, this can be done by fully discharging the battery and recharging negative to positive pole and positive to negative pole.

Now that I have confused youall, could anyone point me in the right direction
