I bought a Milwaukee Special Sportster brand new at Jim´s Harley-Davidson on the 1st of July 1981 in Yuma, Arizona. At that time I was told that Harley made 740 of them, one for every Harley dealer. I financed mine, it was only difficult to get financing because of President Carter´s policies that put financing rates at over 20percent APR..I got an $800 rebate, a chrome Lockhart oil cooler, and a H-D fork lock thrown in on the deal. The sticke price was $4500....
