I have an 82 xj750. Runs great but the gears seem like they are so close together. When I am doing 70 mph, the bike is at about 6400 RPM. It redlines at 9500, but I am worried extended riding at this engine speed is bad for the bike. Is it normal for this bike to be this low geared, and is it OK to drive at this speed? Thanks.
