Without benefit of a wiring diagram, allow me to offer some ideas. I´ve never had to tear into mine. So, depending upon whether the switch is "NO" (normally open) or "NC" (normally closed) with the kickstand is up, you can do either of the following. If "NO", then simply disconnect the switch and the warning lamp should disappear. However, beckermow indicates he bypassed it. That would suggest it is "NC" (kickstand up). In this case, you would need to disconnect the switch and jumper the connections (assuming it is a two-wire connector). Sometimes, you can get lucky with electrical spray (Radio Shack) and free up a sticking switch that has been out in the weather. Try that. In any case, if you don´t get the warning lamp turned off, you´re not going anywhere. Let us know if this helps.
