Fuel flow and Starting (separate issues)
Bike to start? said 2010-02-26 01:15

I´m having trouble starting my bike. It will roll start the first time, but I can try to start it forever with a battery and it won´t unless I have it hooked to a charger. I have gone through two batteries, cleaned out the carbs several times, synced them, rebuilt the generator, rebuilt the starter, and checked the solenoid. It will work sometimes, but usually not. It is not related to my fuel flow issue as it does start when roll starting, and still won´t start with the starter when on prime.

My petcock seems to work intermittently. It will work fine for days, then the bike starts to sputter. If I switch it to reserve, it does fine. Any suggestions?
