Starter problem

I bought an 82 Yamaha 550 a few months back, kind of high km with a rebuilt engine. Had no issues for the first month of riding. Went out for a ride one night and parked it as usual. Next time I went to ride about a week later,it wouldn´t start. Gauges and lights came on when I turn the bike on but clicking noise from battery area each attempting to start, like some sort of electrical shortage (?).
