A bit late I´m afraid, but it might help someone else - The GSX400E type GK53C is restricted by using lower spec camshafts and main jets. To de-restrict means a change of intake and exhaust cams and both main jets, Suzuki still had them on stock when I did this two years ago, P/N (12711-44201 intake cam, 12721-44201 exhaust cam) and main jets (09494-00312). The costs will be somewhere in the region of 400 Euros for the parts - doing the work yourself is not hard if you have a manual and know a bit about mechanics - but you will need a good quality torque wrench, and should also replace the cam cap bolts and possibly cam followers at the same time for peace of mind. As to whether it was worth it... the power is all above 5000, between 3 and 5 you get a stately acceleration. Get it above 7000 and she howls like a banshee and gets a right move on (given it´s a twin 400.)
