I need to adjst the valves on my 82 KZ440 LTD. It is getting very hard to start, and hesitates and sputters on acceleration.
Once it is hot, it starts with a half second tap on the starter, but it still hesitates when you open it up. It also backfires a bit when accelerating hard.
Does anyone know what the proper lash distance is for the intake and exaust valves? It has been 14 years since I last adjusted them, and I can´t remember the specs or find the manual.
Also, are there any tricks to setting these? The last time I did this I had taken the engine mostly apart, and had the valve cover off, I was hopipng to adjust them through the round plugs in the cover, is this advisable?
What is the easiest way to determine TDC on this bike?
