Yeah the dash is different you will notice when you go to install it the the plus look the same on the out side but it you look in where they actually plug they are different also the wires that go to one of the plugs are different colours i don´t know if they can be spliced and work i am not about to start that kind of mess on my bike. I thought they would work when i looked at the 83 dash i bought cause they look the same but i have checked around on the net and sure enough 82 only works for 82 and 83 for 83 almost everything else on the bike is the same. And yeah i still have my dash for the 83 here if you wanna work something out where are you located i am in barrie ontario cannot get your email to work for me but mine is gobenstiensdad@hotmail.com
