Hi, i`m in England and i`ve just bought an 82 sabre with the same mileage that`s been stood in a damp shed for 6 years. I`m in the UK and a 2 stroke triple man myself, so the only things i`d suggest are what i did. Which is check she runs ok (just give her a couple of minutes to get the oil around the top end and quieten down as you well know), check the exhaust system for problems and the rest should be just cosmetic! They certainly have bullet proof engine`s (according to my bike mechanic mate`s) and the only weak point`s are the chocolate camshaft`s, which is why i said let her run up to temperature and listen. Oh yeah, underneath the left side of the engine i have a slight oil leak which we initially though was from the pipe which ran under the left casing but on closer inspection it`s purely from the casing gasket.
The others on here can tell you a lot more than i can, but thats what i`ve found out so far. Stay in touch because were both be in the same situation.
