| Clean the battery wires as well as the frame ground. Make sure regulator ground is also clean. Inspect and clean ALL the plastic plugs going from the stator to the regulator/rectifier, to the battery. A melted plastic plug is a hint to oxidized plugs which will create resistance and thus excessive heat. Pack with dielectric before reconnecting plastic plugs. Make sure the battery is not at fault! Be patient and methodical, take notes if you have to. You will find the problem(s). –Ride On |
