Electrical problem

I have a 1982 Honda CB650 in like new shape that I bought new. My problem is the battery won´t charge while driving. The battery is new (last fall). I bought the battery because the old one died and I thought it was the problem. There is only 8400 miles on the bike. Any suggestions?
