This is a fairly well-known ´characteristic´ of the beast. IF the bike has been standing for more than 10 days, try this routine. Choke off. Open throttle full. Wind engine over for 10-15 seconds. Close throttle. Pull choke out to about 3/4 and operate starter again. If it doesn´t fire up straight away, give it a rest for 5 mins or (as u have said) the battery will die a death. Go back, 3/4 choke & closed throttle & try again. Get used to giving yourself 10 minutes or so extra time b4 you need to set out. Get yourself cheap pair of jump leads with clamps small enough to fit m/c battery terminals, so you can start it off the car battery as a last resort. Good luck, good riding. |
