Taking the ´82 cm250 on a long road trip

I´m planning to take my ´82 cm250 on a 10 day camping excursion around Oregon/Northern CA. Plan to put 1000-1500 miles on the bike. Has anyone done much of this kind of riding with their cm250? Any suggestions?
