Cooper REar wheel removal Jack up bike so rear end is 4-6" off the ground take off bags and mufflers take out plug in chain case on left side just under the swing arm. It is right below the head of the axle nut and is about an inch in diameter. Inside there is 4 or 5 allen headed bolt. they take a 3/8 allen wrench. i like the allen sockets so that i can put a ratchet on them and have some leverage. You will need it.Take the bottom bolts out of the shocks and let the swingarm down to the ground. go to the right side and take the bolts on the braket that holds the disc brake caliper to the swing arm they are the two smaller bolts ahead of the awle around the right swingarm. Now take the nut off the axle and tap it out. Move the spacer from between the wheel and the right swing arm {the brake caliper braket may double as the spacer, i just can´t remember.} Now that you have room on the right side of the wheel pull and wiggle it to the right and it will come apart from th e sprocket which will stay on the bike. If you never got the bolts with the allen heads out of the sprocket, {You know the ones in the hole where you took off the round plug} then you are going to have to take the upper and lower rubber boots of the chain case and undo the chain through the little space you can muster between the bottom rubber and the chain case. then just take the whole assembly off the bike together. This isn´t particularly hard it just takes forever{or so it seems} Lets hope you can get your sproket to wheel bolts out then it is fairly quick. If you are going to keep that bike get a shopmanual for it and it will pay the first use. [I know I know everybody says that} Good Luck Len |
