I have an 82FXRS and below is a few websites you should take a look at for parts. The 1st site is for a book on the history of the fxr and it really is good. check out the commentary on the FXR and the glide series.
The other sites are for parts.
The 2nd site is a parts site, they are competetively priced. But sometimes you can get the part ordered from the local bike shop, just ask them if they order it and most the times they do and the price is almost the same, depending on the shop, not harley just local shop.
The third one is Bears Bike Barn. I have been there and he is selling his stock to retire. He is a cool old grumpy guy. Big dude
retired Air Force with his house attached to his Business. He has
alot of Old Harley parts for Panheads Knuckleheads and Shovelheads.
He is giving it up at 35-50% of the regular price. People from all over the world would buy parts from him because he specializes in old harley and aftermarket parts for old Harleys. Call him and he will let you know if he has the part in stock and what it would cost to ship it to you. Dude I was going to buy a Vulcan about 8 years ago and my buddy had 2 harleys and found my 82 FXR. I am so glad I bought this bike. The history behind it is amazing, and the ride on this think is like the cadillac of the bike´s ride. All my buddys tell me how smooth is is to ride.
