Spares dried up for Midnight Special |

I have an XV1000 Midnight Special 1982/3 import from America it has Hitachi carbs, and would you believe that it is impossible to get an air/mixture screw for these carbs from anywhere.Due to the fineness of their thread. Believed to be a 6mm X 0.3mm pitch thread. There are no local firms that are able to produce one for me, and as I only have one, the bike has been off the road for a while and I am having withdrawl symptoms. It would appear that because they are obsolete Yamaha are determined to stop older machine parts as they are not profitable. Is there any one out there who has a spare one or can tell me what other carbs I might be able to replace them with, so I can get on and enjoy my machine and get back on the open road. Please email me with your suggestions.Martin |
