1983 XJ750 Seca Clutch problem

I just bought an 83´ XJ 750 Seca with only 3200 miles on it. If starts first time every time but the problem is that it needs to run about 15 minutes before the clutch will engage 1st gear with out killing the engine. Is this normal or do I need a new clutch?
