Well, there is a screw for each carb on the throttle linkage. You need to adjust each correctly. My advice unless you are an expert, and have the yics tool, its really not possible to adjust the carbs. I am taking a guess that the bike starts, and runs, but doesn´t idle well, or stay idling untill its really warm. It may also run slightly rough at a small range of rpm, like around 5k it gets a little rough, but smooths out at 5.5k rpm. This is a common problem with older multi carb bikes especially ones with 4 carbs. The solution is not raising the idle. that will keep the bike reved, as it may run and idle when you first start it, when it warms up it will idle at a high rpm. The solution is to have the carbs sync´d. Go to some one who deals with metric bikes. You may have to ask around to find some one who is really good. I have a guy I take mine too. He will charge me around $200, but it will prolly cost you around $300 on average or more. He cuts me deals as we have a mutual friend. You could get the manual and try to do it your self BUT, you need a yics tool which is like $150, and then the other diagnostic tools you would need, you would have spent more then $300 unless you already have them, you could pay some one to do it and you wouldn´t have to think about it for years. The Yics tool blocks off the yics passage ways, and then the bike won´t run, so you have to turn up the idle to get it to run. then you can adjust the carbs to sync them, and then you have to adjut the idle correctly after. |
