Further: I´m a auto mechanic for 25 years and i´d bet that both coil assemblies don´t go bad at the same time! My experience so far has been with carbs that need cleaning and the idle mixture screw plugs removed so the mixture can be set to give a good idle. Another problem he may have is the petcock. These have a filter that only lets a little gas through and most guys run the bikes on prime because the auto shut off feature doesn´t work so good. He may have to wait awhile to restart because he has to wait for the carbs to refill.
