g/day rick,I have had an 83 gsx550 es for three years and have found a couple of probs, sometimes does´nt like starting if cold and damp,(not often a problem here in west australia)
the rectifier went (not cheap) I believe always having your headlight on helps this problem, bridgestone battlax tyres will improve the handling, apart from that it is a great little bike,
