Hi Currently preparing a 1987 GSX550E for the road, and having some issues with the rear shock?? The standard unit is still fitted, and it has no signs of leaks. Has been removed and sent away for overhaul, but it still seems very soft? Pre-load does work and harden shock, but would not be happy to carry a passenger? Were these shocks soft out of the factory? Bike has only done 15k. If I was to replace it, then can I fit something like a Bandit shock? Have looked at Hagon, but don´t have £400!! Thanks in advance for any help.
