I just bought an 83 gpz 750 and it runs great idles well at 1000 to 1500 rpm when hot and turns through the gears real well. My only problem is first gear, it is not very responsive and even downright sluggish at times unless I rev it high and feather the clutch out. Has anyone had this same experience, a mechanic I called thought that maybe this bike was just geared high but couldnĀ“t tell me more without riding it. I have bench syncd the carbs but maybe tomorrow I will pull the gas tank and sync the carbs right so maybe it is just a carb sync issue. Also how should this bike run, should it be torquey and responsive or for the age just a solid pulling bike? Thanks in advance.
