if youre using the original lines, they only fit one way, some lines have a larger diameter than others you can probably figure it out like that but if not I can Email you the pages of the manual that show how to hook up the lines as for the slides in the carbs, take them off and clean them thoroughly(not just the slides) and reassemble the slides should move even when you put gas straight in the carbs. the slides WILL stick if you dont clean them out every year. Especially considering the bike is 24 years old. if you have cleaned them out already, take them off once more and check for scratches on the inside of the carbs where the slides go, sometimes dirt or sand will have got in and caused the walls to scratch.
