I purchased one while I was stationed in West Germany in 1983. It was built for German specs. It had a little German flag emblem next to the gpz 550 logo. I rode it on the Autobahn for three fantastic years. The speedometer was in kph, with no mph at all. I remember burying the needle which I believe topped out at 220 kph. I was told I was not allowed to ship it back with me to the states, because it was too fast for Amercan specs.
