I rode my KDX this weekend. Ran great for about 20 minutes than it choked up a bit and backfired a couple times then died altogether. Kicked it about 100 times until I couldn´t lift my right leg any longer and it actually started back up. Backfired, sputtered, idled very weak and sounded like it want to die. I gave it throttle to keep the engine going and it was sluggish than opened up than backfired again than died again. Haven´t been able to start it since. Changed spark plugs then noticed I was not getting any spark. I have already checked the cables and everything seems ok. About to check the ignition coil and pin points to see if the points are closed shut preventing any spark. Anything else I should check ? Someone mentioned that my spark plug cap may be shorted ? I have called all my motoshops locally and nobody has this instock and would have to special order for me. Will end up ordering one of these if the coil looks ok and the pin points are not shut.... Help me ?
