I have an 83 Aspencade and since I have owned the bike (96)I have had the same starting problems. It seems that every once in a while the bike just decides "I aint working" it comes out of nowhere. This is a real problem when it happens away from home for sure. I have had the starter checked at two different shops and have been assured it is not the problem. I had the bike in storage for four years and after installing the fifth battery since I have owned the bike she was fine for about a month but the last two times I have started her up, the starter barley cranked and very weakly at that. The volt meter reeads 12.5 when the bike is in the accesory position and combined with the age of the battery I am certain it is not the problem. My question simply is where to from here? Can anybody help me out here?
