Drivetrain slack

I have some serious slack in my V65 drivetrain and I was wondering if anyone can give me some advise? I know it could be in the final drive, drive line u-joints, crossover gear or ? I don´t dare back off the throttle and then accelerate unless I first ease into it. And I have to be very mindful of making all my shifts as smooth as possible or the gears crash together loudly. I have to put on a new rear tire in a minute and plan on addressing this issue at the same time. Can someone tell me if there is a \
