Please help w/ V65 Magna 1983 VF1100

gear shifter near foot peg is very loose...?
all gears tight, and shifts ok, just a lot of slop in it.
my guess is a possible bushing rotted and fell off?
online diagrams not helping for they don´t show what goes on after the shift lever....????
