I have the same noise, in fact I could have done your post. This noise, I believe, is coming from the clutch basket and is caused by the ears on the clutch discs wearing grooves into the slots where the clutch ears go. Once the grooves are worn into the basket then just slight movement of the ears on the discs rattle against the basket. There appear to be no new basket to buy and almost all old baskets have this wear to some degree. Let me know if you find any good solution other than wheat I know.
