This is a known problem with the 1100. The starter motor is very under powered. If your battery is over 1-2 years old it will not be able to supply enough current to the starter motor. Even more so if the engine is hot. Check also the Starter motor relay under the left cover as the contacts could be partially burt, oxydized.
