XT250 SOHC 1984 Terminal near Coil

Just purchased an old 1984 XT250 and it has a small black terminal block mounted behind the coil. It has a red wire and a green wire with white stripe connected to it.

Anyway, the terminal is melted. So i wondering if this terminal block is resistor, or a fuse? Fi someone could shines some light it would be great.
