The ´84 Katana is a limited edition in Canada and other Commonwealth countries. From my understanding, Suzuki was going to discontinue the unpopular Katana line and unveiled a radical design to celebrate it´s 10th year in the Commonwealth. They built 200 for Canada, put the limited edition number on the side cowl, and used the GS 750 motor with a higher compression cam and it was to be the last of the Katanas. The bike proved so popular before it was even availiable, they produced the non limited edition for the States and other countries with the regular GS 750 motor. I own number 008 and can say from experience that it exceedes the speed of the
non limited edition Katanas.
