Hello. I was just given a 1981 Kawasaki 550 LTD. It doesnt look too bad. Needs the seat reapholstered, and the tank needs to be repainted. It is not running. The lady said that her husband said it was running fine until the "IC regulator" went bad. Can anyone tell me what exactly is this, where is it on the bike, where can I find one and how much apx does it cost?
Also, the throttle is very very stiff when you try to turn it. Could this be a problem within the cable, or is it more likely to be a gummed up carburator? The bike only has apx 45,000 miles on it.
Any help in getting this thing running would be greatly appreciated!
