400 into 250

Hi, does anyone know if you can put a 400 top end onto a 250 bottom end? or... if you can put any other engine into a GN 250 frame, including the 400. I have a GN250 with a stuffed engine and the parts in Oz are ridiculous $1200 for a head, $600 for a crank kit so I am loking for a way to get the beast running cheaply.
