Long time coming

I just acquired a 1981 gs1000l and it has been sitting in a garage since 1987. It´s in great condition but I don´t want to do anything to harm it so what should I do before I attempt to start the bike. It was winterized so there´s no old fuel in it. The only thing I have done so far is put a little seafoam in the sparkplug holes when I changed them. This was recommended to me by a friend. Any ideas or procedures to help me keep this beautiful bike going would be greatly appreciated.
