You´re welcome! Glad I could help. I just changed my rear tire due to the same reason. I took the wheel off the bike and took it to a shop for them to do the change over. Reason was they also balance the tire just like you would have a car/truck tire done. Beleive it or not they had to remove a few of the factory weights from the orginal mount. You also may want to consider replacing the tube as well.......that´s if yours has a tube. (If your wheel has spokes, you have a tube) Cost of tube is $4.95 and to have the a new tire put on and balanced was 18.00. This included a new valve stem too. My bike has sat for many years and due to rising gas prices I decided to restore it at the lowest cost possible. I feel much safer knowing that my tube is new and not dry rotted even though it was holding air. Michelle |
