to check the oil there is a clear round viewer thingy on the right side of the motor, there are two lines, one below and one above it, the oil should be between the two lines. to drain the oil to change it there is a drain plug on the botom of the motor. and I dont belive there is any way to get a "FREE" manual at all for any bike. if you have any more questions, you have my email..... good luck
