the Haynes manual has all this info and more. Clymer makes a manual for the maxims and the engines are the same. I bought my Haynes manual from amazon. I have also seen them at dennis kirk, JC whitny, and motorbooks.com. As for parts online the best source I have found is bikebandits.com. JC whitney has afew specific parts but I think the most important one is the oil filter bolt for $8.98. the yamaha dealer wanted 30.00. Denniskirk.com has some stock and afew performance parts. lately there has been some parted out parts on ebay.
