hello..this is my first time here and i look forward to meeting other poeple that enjoy the style and class of the ol scooters and what they have to offer us as a bike...iv just managed to purchase a 1980 wideglide thats been sitting in a shed for the pass 10 years and having only been used from time to time..she´s 95% original and a very clean looking unit(bit dusty and had to relocate several spiders)at this moment she´s in the workshop getting new tyres and bearings along with a entire new primary system...the oil feed had been disconected some years ago and turned into a closed unit..oil found its way out allowing every thing to dry out and after a short run cooked every thing inside the primary system...

the million dollar ????

is it better to leave the standard primary chain oil drip feed in place and continue to use it or by pass the system and change the clutch to a wet clutch and place oil in the primary becoming a sealed unit...the great debate iv heard about this system is that the standard oil filter is NOT good enough to filter the finer floaty´s from the primary(e,g..clutch fibers/chain fibers)allowing them to get into the main stream oil and get into the motor itself..
if any one out there thats had this problem in the pass or heard of simular problems relay any imformation my way to help me make the right decistion as to leave it standard or make it a closed unit i would deeply appriciate it...
