I just purchased a 1980 CM200T. When using the electric starter, it turns the engine over a couple of revs, but then just spins like in a car when the starter gear fails to engage the flywheel. I took the cover off to check, and there seems to be a lot of slack in the chain but I see not way to make any adjustments. The service manual does not show any specs on how loose it can be. Can the chain stretch enough to provide a half inch of play over time from normal use? Is it time for a new chain, or is there an adjustment that is not visible or mentioned in the manual? I thought about a used on on e-bay, but could get the same problem. Thanks.
