New ´81 CM400T Owner and Newbie to Biking

I have just bought my first bike and want to get it on the road. So far, I´ve managed to get it going for 10 minutes straight, but not consistently. I hope this discussion group can offer advvice! Right now, I have taken out the carbs and hope to clean them up as a start. Any special quirks I should keep in mind?
