Replacing the enging |

Hi! Has anyone ever replaced their 1980 cbf750 engine? Mine´s got serious trouble with the big end, piston 2, and the carbs and I don´t have the know-how to do it myself, and it´s looking like it´ll cost too much to get done by the mechanics. I was thinking of buying a clean, reconditioned replacement but can´t find a direct swap, so was wondering if it´s possible to put a CB 750 engine in from a different model or year? Has anyone done it? If I got a ´92 CB750F2N would it fit without any need to adjust the mounts? Are the exhaust manifolds standard? Anyone suggestions or advice very gratefully received as I really don´t want to break the bike... she´s too beautiful!! Thanks! Michael. |
