justin. place the crank on tdc. if you are not sure, put a screwdriver into no1 sparkplug hole and turn motor till piston 1 is at the top. fit your cams so that the cam lobes for no4 points SouthWest for your intake and South east for your exhaust. work as if 90 degrees is north. I use this method if no timing marks are visible and the cams are standard. good luck
