Hi Brian, Thanks for the contact, assuming you fitted everything back ok, the timing marks are top marker on the cam shaft sprocket with a pointer on the casting, on the fly wheel it is similar. So I guess it is Carb related, assuming all the jets are clean then you have a diaphram that works, if you remove the carb ( it is a bit of a pain to do this) then when the bowl is full it should squirt fuel when you open the slide, the float height should also be correct, xt 500´s were very fussy but the 250 was not so fussy, at the top of the float, where the fuel shuts of is a flat strip where the little spring to shut it of sits, this should be level. Another thought, if you have poor compression it wont draw any fuel through, check you dont have a tight tappet, give it a try or contact me on bobmotoguzzi@btinternet.com The engine is relatively simple. |
