My starter did the same. Had it apart twice. Bad seal causing oil to contaminate. Cleaned it all up but still no go. I have every single wire on this bike apart and dremeled spotless but still no good. So I took a riding mower battery, made a wooden box, mounted it on the carrier and connect to the original battery. It works perfectly and in fact never ran so good. Dont care about looks and yoU cant argue with success. Remember a good doctor can cure the sick but a good mechanic can RAISE THE DEAD .
