Yamaha 850 special electrical

Yamaha 850 special electrical

I just finished rebuilding my 1980 850 special.
Ran great with everything working fine.
Just lost the headlights completely. No power to the light at all.
There is power across the fuse. Power to the relay.
Any suggestions before I hotwire it to a switched hot lead in the headlight bucket?
