Where did you get a replacement that would fit the Fuel tank mounting scheme? Or how did it attach? To answer your question; the motor could under high G´s, & high RPM (like racing)suck the float bowls dry. After all this is gravity feed fuel flow. However on our planet since the two petcocks feed a single tube feeding all three carbs (on the stock setup)... you should be fine. Just remember that the tank drains to a reserve point on both sides. Since the tank has a fair amount of bend to stradle the frame you may have to lean the bike to the left and slosh the fuel over that way when you get low. Hope that helps, Erik.
