Hi All- I recently drove home my "new" 1980 850 XS, this bike is heavy, but I think I´ll like it. However, there are a few problems I need help on, I am a true novice so bear with me here. #1-It will not start, the electric starter switch is gone, I can make the connection with a nail (there is a kick start though) (gas in tank may be old) How does the choke and fuel switches work best when starting? I do not seem to get much out of the kick start, am I doing something wrong?? Clutch in? #2 The headlight is out (bulb is ok, battery is ok, no power to bulb. #3 I have scheduled a "tune-up" at my local Yamaha dealer $90 plus parts, he mentioned I may need to have the carbs cleaned and rebuilt ($65/carb) Is this what I really need? This bike has not been used much in the past 2 years but overall is in good shape (I work with the prior owner, who had it for 10 years). any comments very much welcomed. Gus
