So I picked up a 1980 XS1100 as part of a 3 bike deal, and it appeared at first to be the best of the three, but now I´m questioning if it´s seized or not, I got the cover off the right side, and have been trying to turn the 17mm hex head bolt that holds the stator on, and I´ve managed to get it to turn about 3/4 turn and then lock up again, and then can get it to go the opposite way back to the same position, where it locks up again. Bike is in neutral, everything else is perfect, just seems seized up but if it was, I don´t understand why it goes 3/4 turn in the first place. I thought I´d ask for any ideas before tearing the cylinders off. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!
